Cruising, in one form or another, has been an extremely popular way of holidaying for decades; particularly in the Western culture.
Previously, taking a cruise has been an expensive option, and one usually reserved for people with enough money and time to take them. So, with the UK coming off the back of a national recession led by a new, coalition government, taking a cruise probably isn’t on the agenda of many people planning to take a holiday this year.

But are there any arguments for booking a cruise this year? Actually, there are. With more cruise companies operating around the World than ever before, there is dramatically increased competition for custom; generally speaking, this will almost always lead to a drop in price for the end consumer as the big cruise companies attempt to corner the post-recession market. So the first piece of advice I’d have for those thinking of a cruise is to shop around; there are numerous external operators offering Silver Sea Cruises, Worldwide cruises and Oceania Cruises (plus a huge number of others) and getting a good amount of quotes will undoubtedly save you money.

Let’s not forget the relative reliability of cruise liners; particularly coming out of the ash cloud nightmare caused by an Icelandic volcano. It is true that cruises can suffer from delays and problems surrounding the weather, but this is being addressed with advancements in weather prediciton and sailing technology.

There are also national options for cruising, utilising rivers rather than oceans; check out some of the amazing deals available for river cruises, these are options that should certainly be looked at before deciding on your next holiday. River cruises offer an excellent alternative to the more expensive international cruises and are definitely a viable option.

However you feel about crusing, it is a luxurious and relaxing way to travel and a great way to see parts of the world that might be more difficult to see during a regular holiday.

I imagine your choice will end up coming down to price, as is the way with so many of these things, but it’s worth having a look round for some different options anyway, as cruising may not be quite as expensive an option as you first thought.

juegos The Gentleman’s Travel Club (GTC) is a highly exclusive and wholly private online members club, offering complete anonymity for the discerning gentleman to escape the grind of daily working life and to relax in sumptuous surroundings in exotic locations, with like-minded individuals.

“Getting away from it all” is such a well-worn phrase and very few people could ever actually achieve that – untill now.

trabajo Cook sighted and named Sydney Harbour “Port Jackson” but strangely didn’t enter. It wasn’t truly discovered until 1788 when the eleven ships of the First Fleet (of convicts & marines) under Captain Arthur Phillip preferred it as an excellent anchorage and watering point to the original landing place, Botany Bay.

On the afternoon of the 21st January 1788 Phillip set out from Botany Bay in three long boats to explore Cook’s “Port Jackson”. They set up camp for the night at “Camp Cove” in the lee of South head. Phillip recorded they were watched from high ground by Aborigines who chanted and waved their spears.

trabajar Then he met an old school friend who invited him to join him and his all female cabin crew on his yacht moored in the Mediterranean. The rest, as they say, is history.

Try to remember the most fantastic holiday you have ever experienced. Think of a hotel, where the service was superb, the cuisine exquisite and the surroundings sumptuous.

Sadly, you are still not within shooting distance of a GTC event.

From the moment you board your flight and take your seat in your own private jet, to the day you leave, feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the world again; you will enjoy an experience you could not even begin to imagine.

This experienced traveler, who happens to be ninety-one years old, has traveled extensively throughout the world.  Her last trip took her to Antarctica. She saw Antarctica in person, not on television or in a magazine. This was her first sighting of Antarctica, though she?d been to its continent two times prior. She didn’t actually touch the Antarctic land, but flew over it. You will find that further information on adventure antarctica tours is on that site.

As she traveled over fjords, glaciers and mountain peaks, she was able to see this ice-covered area. The pilot took them down to 300 feet above the ground. She and her other passengers saw a mountain range dressed in fog. Because the weather was so good, they could see well. They flew through sub-freezing air, even though the flight took place at the end of March, which is technically still in the Antarctic Summer. The flight came with a naturalist who was both tour guide and lecturer.  The scientist was currently working in Antarctica.

Our traveler really wanted to glimpse some penguins on this trip. Disappointingly, she was unable to see any.  Her daughter, who was sitting at another window did spot a colony in the far distance. They visited the Falkland Islands, near Argentina, on a cruise ship. Hundreds of Magellan penguins greeted her as she reached the East Island of the Falklands.  This took another boat ride. This is the tallest of all the penguin species.

They flew over 16 hours from the United States to South America, where the cruise began. In addition to touring South American ports of call, passengers were invited to take a dip in the ship?s pool. She took the dive, disregarding the thirty-five degree temperatures, and was rewarded with a certificate. You will find that further information on antarctica vacations is on that site.

After docking in Chile, the passengers were driven to Santiago, where they continued to tour.  Then they flew to Rio. Perfect weather accompanied the three week cruise. Even the Southern Cross, the smallest constellation, was clearly visible.

The ninety-one year-old had visited South America before; she?d cruised the major river and spent time in one of the major cities. Loss of bird habitats from deforestation in the jungles surrounding that major river were a major concern of our traveler. She has even been on an African Safari when she was there visiting friends. A visit to Antarctica completed her ?collection? because she had already been to. She finally visited them all with her recent trip to Antarctica.
