I live in BC, Canada and will be finishing school and leaving my job by the end of April. I want to take a trip in May and I don’t have anyone to go with me so I’d like to maybe join a tour group or something similar as I don’t feel comfortable relying on myself in a strange place.

I have researched a little bit on taking a cruise but I haven’t really found anything of interest that departs from BC.

Are there any websites or agencies that I could look at that would be able to provide me with an itinerary and activities for maybe 1 – 2 weeks. I’d also like free time by myself too. I am willing to pay I just don’t know how to go about finding something that offers that. I’m not particular about where I go visit.. preferrably somewhere outside of Canada even the US would be fine.

Any ideas/help would be appreciated. Basically I want to have my trip planned by someone with activities, etc. and visit places I’ve never been before. Something for solo travellers??

Plenty of options. For under age 35 you could try a Contiki Tour, they are great. Best bet is if you know a travel agent or an experience travel agency they can give great guidance. Universities also have travel centres for students. All have websites. You could work and cruise at same time, getting paid to visit places. Contact Princess cruise lines, they have a hiring agency in BC and are always looking for enthusiastic workers in many different roles from child care/activities to security. Hours are fairly short, pay is in cash, and you get a cabin and meals.

okay this is a long story, but please help me out. okay i met this guy on a 9 day cruise. he was on the cruise with all of his cousins, and i was on it with my best friend. we met the 1st night and hung out with all of them every single night of the cruise. the first 3 nights we hung out as a group, and then the 4th we were in a group, and this guy was showing us different magic tricks. he then wanted to try a card trick, and i happened to have cards in my room, he came with me to my room, and there was nobody in there, but he didnt even take advantage of that. we went back to the other room and he showed us card tricks, it was a lot of fun, and he was really sweet. he then left with one of his cousins to go to the casino, and i asked if he was coming back and he promised me in 20 minutes, and kissed me on the cheek. and he came back in 15 minutes . we were hanging out then we had alone time and spent the entire night talking. he told me right away "dont think im gay..id be all over you..but you made out with my brother last night" (i only made out with his brother the night before nothing else at all). it was understandable, and he didnt even try anything but the topic of me being a virgin came up. he didnt believe me that i was, and then he told me to wait for someone i really like and then he said "and its not going to be me." he asked me that night also if me and him were going to be hanging out the next night, and i said yes. then my drunk friend walked in and had to throw up in the toilet, and i had to pee, so the guy walked me to his room to use his bathroom, and once again nobody was in there, but he didnt even take advantage. we went back to my room and continued talking. my friend was then like.."would you kiss her already" and he said.."only if she says yes"..so i said yes, and then i teased him and said "oh i thought nothing could happen cause i was with your brother"..and he said "oh man i forgot about that i liked you, and now you reminded me of that"..so he stopped kissing me but then i continued. he then slept over and layed with me that night. the next night my friend got him from the casino. he came into my room, sat on the bed, and i went to go lay with him. we started hooking up and he asked me if i wanted to go to his room. i said yes, and we had our privacy now. we were talking about how he won money, and then i layed on the bed, he followed, and he did everything to me, i didnt do a single thing to him. we then ended up having sex in the moment, it was great. but during it he said "some guys dont last this long"..which was kinda cocky, and he was prob trying to not sound gay and be a man. i did like him a lot but i said "i thought you told me to wait for the person i really like"..and he said "you could like me"..after sex, he got pants for me, and walked me to my room with his arm around me. we were about to go in, but his cousin walked by and we went to the casino. him and his cousin were in a rush, but he kept looking back to make sure i was still there..which was really sweet:). i got there and told him i was tired, and i was going back to my room. he said he would come back in a little while, and sure enough he did, and he slept over and layed with me. the next day he came looking for me, but i was in a room with two of his guy cousins, and my best friend. nothing was happening at all, but my best friend was drunk and wouldnt let the guy in. he was asking her if i was in there, and where i was cause he wanted to hang out. i noticed he was mad at me, and we didnt talk for 2 nights, even though we were hanging out in a group. the 8th night finally he confronted me about it and told me he thought i was with another guy. i told him i wasnt and he even asked my friend what the deal with me was. she told him that i like him and i wasnt with any other guys, and he nodded and smiled in approval. that night we hung out the entire night talking, me, this guy, and my best friend. he always includes my best friend, and never makes her feel left out. eventually one of his cousins came in the room to hang out with my friend, and we got some alone time. we ended up having sex, and he was constantly asking me if i was alright, and told me to tell him when to stop and if i was in pain. i was in pain for whatever reason, and we had to stop for a little while. he then suggested trying it without the condom to see what it feels like. i said yes, cause he asked me, he didnt just take it off without me knowing, which made me really happy. he then said "you might have to give me head"..im assuming to finish? or to make it hard again? but i didnt do it anyway, even though he pleasured me all the time. it felt a whole lot better, and he asked me if it hurt still or if it felt good and if i wanted him to stop. and he said "babe you need to let me know if it hurts." earlier in the night he was holding my hand and calling me his gf on the cruise, and if i lived near him wed be gf and bf, and were gonna get married. because it just so happens im going to college near him, and he knows this. he asked if we were spending the whole next day together and we were talking about how it was technically our last night together. so after sex he slept over again and layed with me. the last night we just hung out the entire night and he kissed me on the lips goodbye. right after the cruise, he contacted me the exact day we got home. we’ve been in contact for 11 months, and we’ve seen eachother twice since the cruise. the first time was only 20 minutes, but the second time was 2 hours, and nothing happened. he texted me right after the second visit saying "thanks for coming cant wait to see you again"..and later when i told him to have fun he said "all my fun left at 12"…then two nights later he texted me again and we were talking about him visiting me and going to the city, and he said "way rather see you then the city"..meaning it doesnt matter what we do, id rather see you. then one time he messed up plans cause i was near where he lived, and we were supposed to hang out. and he knew he messed up cause he called me that night saying "i dont care how much it costs, ill get a hotel room at your hotel, and your friends can come, and we’ll all hang out cause i wanna see you so badly"..but i told him it was too late. 5 days later, he calls me to apologize once again. it was really sweet, and showed he really cares. he said "you never write me anymore and let’s keep this long distance relationship going"

I haven’t really traveled that much outside of California, but here’s one of mine:

Carnival Cruise Ship en route to Ensenada Mexico (age 10)

As a child, I was really, really shy. I would rarely speak or perform in front of large groups of people. On one of the nights that my family and I were on this vacation cruise, we found this activity in the auditorium of the ship. Big Band music was being played and couples (from an audience of about 500) were encouraged to jump onstage and do some swing dancing, each with their partner.

My sister (3 years younger) and I had never taken any official dance lessons, yet at home we would often mimic some of the swing dance moves that we had seen on TV or in films. This night on the ship, it took us 15 minutes, but my sister and I got the nerve to join the dozen other couples on stage. At first we were a little nervous, but as the minutes passed we both just started having more and more fun dancing. We were having so much fun that we continued dancing to the music even during a point where all of the other couples had left the stage. For a few minutes, my 7 year old sister and I were dancing in front of this audience of about 500 people with no stress or worry — just fun excitement. It was so exhilarating!

Even after we left the ship and were on a bus headed toward the airport, an older woman who was in the audience recognized us, complimented us, and told us to keep up the dance lessons (she had no idea that we had never taken any, lol) It was so great!

So yeah, that’s my memory…

Out for a walk one morning in Perugia–a city in Italy famous (in Italy) for the charm and civility of its inhabitants–I turned a corner of a climbing, winding street, and found myself suddenly in the midst of a family gathering; and right in front of me, a lovely little girl about five years old who was holding the paw of a sweet little dog. Without thinking, I stopped, dropped to one knee beside them, and said "Buon cucciolo! (Good puppy!)" And all around us rose the soft chuckling and murmuring of aunts and uncles and parents and grandparents, saying, in Italian, "Isn’t that the cutest thing you ever saw!"

I’ve been on a cruise before and i was able to go in with the kid activities. however, on my next vacation i will be 18 and i need to know what they have for my age group.

18-20 is always the hard age on cruise ships, because you are too young for the late night clubbing and too old for the kid’s club. BUT, there really is a ton to do!

The first and second nights are great nights to meet people. Go out with any siblings that may be going with you or go to one of the ice breaker activities that are provided. The ice breaker activities can be found in your Cruise Guide in your room. These will be delivered to your room on a daily basis. Those are great places to initially meet people.

Once you meet people there are tons of games and things going on during the day that you can always go to (bingo, trivia games, pool side dance contests, etc.). There are also certain time slots at night where the nightclubs are open for 18 and under. You may want to look into the ages for the nightclub when you get on the boat. Each boat varies on what ages are allowed in. Some are 21 and over only, some are 18 and up, it really depends. So, check into it.

But there are tons of activities for your age group for sure
